PABCO® Exterior Gypsum Soffit Board is designed for application on the underside of exterior soffits, open porches, walkways, carport ceilings and similar installations that are completely protected from contact with liquid water. The core and paper of exterior gypsum soffit board has been treated to enhance its ability to resist sagging when applied in the prescribed manner.

PABCO® Exterior Gypsum Soffit Board panels are manufactured 4 ft. wide with lengths of 12', 1/2" and 5/8" thicknesses with fire resistive type X cores are available. Tapered edges provide a recessed area that allows tape and joint treatment to be used to create a monolithic (flat) ceiling surface.

1/2" PABCO® type XXX Exterior Gypsum Soffit Board is recommended for residential or commercial applications where the ceiling joists are spaced 24" o.c. maximum. When fire-resistant assemblies are required, the correct product 1/2" type XXX, 5/8" type X or improved PABCO® 5/8" type X Exterior Soffit Board will be needed.

1/2" PABCO® type XXX Exterior Gypsum Soffit Board meets the requirements specified by ASTM in the Standard Specification for Gypsum Board (C 1396 type X). 1/2" PABCO® FLAME CURB® type XXX Exterior Gypsum Soffit Board is an improved type X core product. This product qualifies for use in 1/2" type X systems and many proprietary designs. Its light weight and improved fire-resistive core make an excellent choice for multi-family applications or exterior commercial ceiling applications of all types.
