MOLD CURB® PLUS
PABCO® MOLD CURB® PLUS products have been engineered with a water-resistant chemistry
that provides the most enhanced water- and mold-resistant protection available in gypsum board
products. The PABCO® MOLD CURB® PLUS core is comprised of a fire-resistant, non-combustible
gypsum core that is encased in 100% recycled paper facings which additionally are treated for water
and mold-resistance. The PABCO® MOLD CURB® PLUS facing papers are distinguishable by the
light blue coloration on the front and along the edges.
The paper facing on the MOLD CURB® PLUS product affords a surface suitable for decoration.
Tapered edges provide a recessed area which allows the taping and filling of joints to create a
monolithic wall finish.
PABCO® MOLD CURB® PLUS water and mold resistant gypsum board panels are interior
gypsum board panels, which may also used as a base for tile and plastic finish panels in DRY
AREAS. This product may be applied in building applications which require direct mechanical
attachment to wood or metal wall and ceiling framing, or may attached to existing surfaces using
fasteners or adhesives.
PABCO® MOLD CURB® PLUS 1/2" thick panels are intended for single layer applications in
residential construction.
PABCO® MOLD CURB® PLUS 5/8" thick type X panels are intended for single or multiple-layer
construction in fire-tested assemblies.
PABCO® MOLD CURB® PLUS panels are manufactured with a special formulated gypsum
core and paper facing, which provide enhanced protection against mold, mildew, and moisture as
compared to untreated gypsum board panels. In independent laboratory tests per ASTM D 3273
(Standard Test Method for Resistance to Growth of Mold on the Resistance Surface of Interior
Coatings in an Environmental Chamber), PABCO® MOLD CURB® PLUS products achieved a 10
rating, the highest level of performance for this test method.
No material may be classified as mold-proof. Prolonged exposure to moisture can result in the
growth of mold or mildew on any surface. The use of good design, with proper handling and
construction practices, is the most effective and best method to minimize mold and mildew. This
includes avoiding water exposure during all phases of the project, such as: storage, handling, shipping,
and product installation and system maintenance both before and after project completion. |
