Abuse-Resistant Wallboard

PABCO® ABUSE CURB™ products are engineered with mold and water resistant chemistry that provide the most enhanced mold- and moisture-resistant protection available in gypsum board products.  PABCO® ABUSE CURB™ is composed of a fire-resistant, non-combustible gypsum core that is encased in 100% recycled paper facings which additionally are produced with mold and water-resistant properties.  PABCO® ABUSE CURB™ achieve the highest possible score of 10 when tested by third-party microbiological laboratories to ASTM D 3273.  PABCO® ABUSE CURB™ facing papers are distinguishable by the light blue coloration on the front and along the edges. 

The paper facing on the PABCO® ABUSE CURB™ affords a surface suitable for decoration.  Tapered edges provide a recessed area with allows the taping and finishing of joints to create a monolithic wall finish. 

PABCO® ABUSE CURB™ mold- and moisture-resistant wallboard is intended for interior use on walls in schools, hospitals, shopping areas where additional abrasion and indentation resistance is desired. 

PABCO® ABUSE CURB™ High Impact mold- and moisture-resistant wallboard is intended for interior use on walls in schools, hospitals, shopping areas, detention facilities, and building where additional security between rooms is desired.  There is an additional high strength fiberglass web in the board that inhibits moderate soft or hard body attacks in an effort to break through the board.  See Submittal Sheet for abuse and impact resistant classifications.

PABCO® ABUSE CURB™ High Impact provides the same engineered mold- and water-protection that is described above for PABCO® ABUSE CURB™.   PABCO® ABUSE CURB™ and PABCO® ABUSE CURB™ High Impact are both manufactured to ASTM C1396 and tested and classified with ASTM C1629.
